Elna Moore Hall, Ph.D.

Organizational Development Coach

Elna Moore Hall, Ph.D. has broad expertise in leadership and organization effectiveness, with two decades of experience in both internal and external advisory roles. She partners with clients to align their leadership strategy and people practices with their business objectives, and creates solutions that attract, motivate and retain key talent. She has supported clients across a variety of industries, with focus on telecommunications, financial services, education, and aviation. Dr. Hall has particular expertise in acting as a trusted advisor to managers during periods of extraordinary organizational change, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, downsizing and rapid growth. Through these varied experiences, Dr. Hall has seen first-hand that skilled leadership can be the critical factor that determines an organization’s success in a turbulent business environment. 

Dr. Hall is currently the Director of Consulting Services for 3D Group, where she is responsible for ensuring the firm’s delivery of superior client solutions in talent assessment and development. As a former senior consultant for Hewitt Associates’ (now Aon Hewitt) Talent and Organization practice, Dr. Hall developed human capital strategies for a variety of Fortune 500 corporations, as well as programs to promote and retain high-performing leaders based on Hewitt’s exclusive partnership in analyzing Fortune’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” data. Prior to that, she spent several years as an internal advisor at Motorola, where she consulted across four continents and eventually led the leadership and succession management functions for Motorola’s $11 billion cellular infrastructure business. 

Dr. Hall holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from DePaul University, with a focus on global leadership and organization change. She is a contributing author to the book Consulting and Evaluation with Nonprofit and Community-based Organizations, and has published in the Journal of Business and Psychology and the Performance in Practice journal of the American Society for Training and Development. It is a consistent focus of Dr. Hall’s professional work to provide clients with a balance of the science and real-life practice of leadership. 

Outside of her client work, Dr. Hall is a board member of Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, plays an active role within the Bay Area autism awareness community, and is an active member of the National Alumnae Association of Spelman College and Jack and Jill of America.
