Nourishment
Over the weekend, one of my clients invited me to her home — a working farm in central Jersey where she lives with her family, cats, dogs and various and sundry animals. Truth be told, she didn’t actually invite me — I sort of invited myself and asked if I could bring my young nephews with me! I am a country girl at heart so when she described having goats, baby goats (aka kids), I thought I wanted to take it all in, enjoy nature, meet her family and of course, feed the goats

Happy Veteran’s Day + I Miss You, Dad…
On this Veteran’s Day and always on November 11th we honor all current and former members of the Armed Services who sacrificed for our country and our freedom. For me, this day of honoring is amplified as I remember my dad who, while not a soldier in the legal sense, he was a soldier and champion in his own rite. He transitioned on this day in 2002 and it’s mind-blowing to me how ever-present he is in my heart and mind. Needless to say, I miss him a lot and at the same tim

Reflections
Eighteen years ago, during Memorial Day weekend, we relocated from Denver, Colorado to Oakland, California with a sassy six-year old, and a somewhat reserved thirteen-year old in tow. There was a sense of adventure heading to the left coast and the sunshine state, while at the same time a little sadness on moving further away from our family in New Jersey. When I think of this holiday I immediately conjure up images of the parade in East Orange, then heading to my grandpare

Sisterhood - Who's Part of Your Crew? MCS can help you figure it out...
From time to time, you will read the words of a guest blogger. Today we have Tracy Munford - On Sisterhood When I think of the word, rarely do I consider the definition, instead I think of the way I feel when in the presence of women whose love and support make me feel a certain way – that is what I call Sisterhood. There are many women who are a part of my sisterhood; from sisters at birth, former colleagues, to those who are part of my close network, to club sisters in th

7 Ways to Fall into Fall
I found this encouraging. I hope you do as well! With the winding down of summer, nature’s settling down and preparing for the winter. Before she retreats however, nature thoroughly celebrates her harvest time, releasing her bounty of summer gifts and making way for new growth to be sown and nurtured. With her abundance of colors and still-kind sunlit days, I’ve always found autumn a wonderful time to re-establish routines, set goals and create good habits for winter coming.

Spring Has Finally Sprung
Recently as I was sitting aboard an aircraft, listening to Andra Day belting out "Rise Up" and marveling at the big tin bird in the sky, it reminded me of love -- how wholeheartedly and fully I love -- things like aviation, baking for fa mily and friends, walking the lake, and springtime, especially in New York. Any flight to New York makes me smile as it means in addition to work for MCS, I'll get to see both my first and second born daughters! They are pretty amazing women,

Happy Father's Day
Always on Father's Day and especially this year, I reflect on the closeness of my relationship with my dad, and how he cared for me and my siblings. I'm his spitting image, and certainly his favorite (ha!). I think each of us felt we were his fave, so I guess that's one of the things that made him a great dad. With similar attitudes about life and living, "Big Donald" as he was known by family and friends didn't know a stranger, loved everyone he crossed paths with, and was a
